Confidence in communication is one of the most valuable skills a young person can develop.
Whether it’s contributing in the classroom, presenting ideas, attending interviews or entering the workplace, the ability to speak with confidence can open doors and create opportunities for life.
Our Speak Up Challenge is an engaging, interactive workshop designed to help young people to develop the confidence to express themselves clearly and authentically.
What is The Speak Up Challenge?
The Speak Up Challenge is a hands-on public speaking and communication skills workshop for schools, colleges, and youth organisations.
Through a series of fun interactive activities and group challenges, participants build confidence step by step, learning that public speaking is a skill that anyone can develop.
What Young People Will Learn
Throughout the workshop, participants will:
- Build confidence speaking in front of others.
- Develop clear and effective verbal communication skills.
- Learn techniques for voice projection, body language and presentation.
- Improve active listening and teamwork.
- Organise their thoughts into engaging presentations.
- Develop resilience by stepping outside their comfort zone.
- Gain confidence in expressing their opinions and ideas.

The University Challenge delivers a clear and thoroughly engaging message about young people’s future choices
2engage's University Challenge performance delivers a clear and thoroughly engaging message about young people’s future choices, options and expectations when they come to leave school through the medium of drama/comedy. By breaking down these areas into humorous, digestible sketches it turns what could be a very boring advice and guidance session into a fun, aspiration raising performance. It’s a fantastic show that is applicable to various year groups and can be delivered anywhere from a small class room to a large school hall or performance space. All of the students/ teachers that have watched it have found it completely engaging with the Q+A session at the end proving to be a great success!
Watching this production made our learners think, question and re-evaluate their future choices!
Both our Year 10's and Year 12's found the production informative, entertaining and amusing. It reassured our Year 12's to take that next step and apply for university and reassured our Year 10's that university life and work is very different to school. It inspired our students to re-consider university life as a prospective future for them. Watching this production made them think, question and re-evaluate their future choices. Brilliant!

The students seemed enthralled by the performance and the humour. They will remember the day much more clearly because of it. Of the 179 pupils who attended both outreach days, 97% either agreed or strongly agreed that 'Choices' was useful, engaging and interesting.

Fun and memorable
The University Challenge performance not only gives a clear and informative messages but a realistic view of the Higher Education journey students are about to embark on. This is all fixed together in a fun and memorable story line with some truly unforgettable characters.

Choices is a fantastic production
'Choices' is a fantastic production. I have been lucky enough to see it three times in my teaching career alongside a year 9 cohort. 2engage have really hit all the notes with this one - It's funny, informative and absolutely enthralling for the audience. The actors have all been phenomenal each time they've visited and I really couldn't have asked for any more. It was a fantastic way to kick-start our year 9 options day.
